ASHITABA set up a captive factory in Bali, Indonesia in 1990. Since then we developed a number of qualitative products to ship to ever corner of the world.
Our characteristics can be described in that ever after the establishment we have been producing pollution-free natural materials when being burnt or thrown away.
As the whole process is taken manually by artisans, it takes a few days to make a 10cm coaster, however, all our products with warmth will show the genuine taste as much as you use them.
These hand-made products are classified into 10 tiers according to quality. ASHITABA chooses only the top 2 tiers to ship to every country in the world including Japan.

Differentiation between ASHITABA products and imitation products.
The coaster on the top left is made out of Atta (tropical fern).
These two above are obviously different in design, reticulation and quality.
The right one is actually sold by another company, which are priced higher than ours. This difference comes from the performance of manual work and quality control.
While the right is breakable only after several month of use, the left one (ASHITABA) is durable enough to keep adding better texture to itself for lifelong.
These products are LOMBOK oval placemats. (Finishing takes place at our captive factory.)
Although it is hard to tell in the picture, the right product from another company is not shaped well. Besides, reticulation is rough and untidy because of the reduced amount of materials. In regard to tinction, ever single ASHITABA product is smoked with coconuts chips, which creates protection effects from insects. On the other hand, the same product from another company is just dried after dipping into Miniantana (muddy water from red-soil) , ending up generating insects or mud powder. Not only is the texture rough, but also weaving is loose and the product itself is too soft to maintain its beautiful round shape for the reason that it is not woven at constant intensity.
This influences strength as well. The right one can be spiky or ripped.
Knowing these information, please compare two items on the right. It must be easy to identify qualities of weaving, small mesh, design and texture.
